A Family Faces Food Insecurity in America’s HeartlandPaige Turner
In the land of plenty, it’s hard to believe that anyone would struggle to put food on their table, but that’s the reality for many in the United States. The Dreier family is one such family. They’ve had to cobble together decent meals with help from WIC, food stamps, and local food pantries.
Although the family works, it’s not enough to ensure the bills are paid and everyone’s belly is full. Unfortunately, the Dreier’s story is becoming increasingly common in America.
Want to do something to help Americans like the Dreiers become more food secure? Check out our Gift That Gives More dedicated feeding a family of four for two weeks, giving help and hope to those who need it most, through the work of Feeding America.
